Fort Lauderdale was honored to host Eric Guttierez, International Mr. Leather 2011 and Jim Deuder, International Mr. Bootblack 2011 for our annual International Leather Weekend. The weekend kicked off with a cocktail party at LeatherWerks with Eric and Jim as the guests of honor.  There was also a "Slave Auction" and 10 hot men were auctioned to the highest bidder and helped to raise $1,572 for The Smart Ride 8.

After the LeatherWerks cocktail party, the crowd moved to the Ramrod Bar for a Meet & Greet with Eric & Jim.  The bar was packed with lots of men and women dressed in leather.

Saturday morning Jim Deuder gave a 2 hour seminar Sex, Grease & Leather - Bootblacking and Erotic Leathercare.  Several people attended to learn more about the erotic art of bootblacking and leather care.  Following the seminar, there was a pool party at Inn Leather, hosted by the South Florida boys of Leather.  The pool party was well attended and rumor has it that it was a lot of fun!!!

Sunday evening was the Sash Bash - Title Holder Reunion at the Ramrod Bar, hosted by Ron Todd, Mr. Ramrod 2011.  Title holders from all over the area came to mingle with the crowd and meet the newest title holders.  The weekend wrapped up with a formal leather dinner at Mojo Restaurant.  The food was amazing for our final evening with Jim and Eric.  We wish them the best with their travels as the current Mr. Internatlonal Leather and Mr. International Bootblack.  We were honored to spend the weekend with such outstanding representatives of the international leather community.

Florida and Ft Lauderdale were once again recognized as a one of the most vital Leather Communities in North America at the 2011 Pantheon of Leather Awards on Friday August 5^th.  The Pantheon of Leather Awards are sponsored by The Leather Journal and are awarded annually to the people, clubs, and businesses that are making the largest contribution to the health vitality and growth of the Leather Community in the United States.

This year LeatherWerks won Leather Business of the Year (for the second time in three years) and The South Florida boys of Leather won Small Club of the year.  LeatherWerks' good friend bootblack redwarrior from Jacksonville won 2011 Leather Woman of the Year.

2010 South Florida winners of Pantheon of Leather Awards include the Leather Masked Ball, Sir Top and slave bonnie, Master John Weal and Miss Rae.  Other Recent winners include LeatherWerks and Bill Hoeppner in 2009 and Eric Lawrence, co-founder of LeatherWerks, in 2008.

In addition to all of the nationwide winners listed above, Florida’s Leather Community is so active and so dynamic that it has the distinction of being the only state in the United States to have an annual State Regional Award  (OK, California has two regional awards so it is not a state regional award).

Fort Lauderdale has the greatest Leather Community in the United States.  On behalf of myself and the entire LeatherWerks family I’m honored by your continuing support and proud to be a part of this tremendous community.
